Details

Our multi award-winning costumed performers Edinburgh Living History celebrate their 21st birthday this year and to celebrate we have made a documentary film produced by Noisy Ghost Entertainment. This documentary focuses on the time just after the world recovered from the Covid-19 pandemic and shows the resilience and creativity of Castle staff and the Edinburgh Living History team during this time. Join us to celebrate a big birthday and watch a screening of the documentary. There will also be the opportunity to watch the very first film we made in the thick of the pandemic 'Reflections of 1919' - a film full of the emotions of the time but a film full of hope that was watched by scores of thousands from home. Afterwards you will get a short exclusive tour of the Castle with Edinburgh Living History as they proudly discuss modern innovations to the Castle in the year 1903, led by Mrs Mackay, Castle housekeeper. At the end of the event enjoy some birthday cake in the courtyard with us over coffee and meet the cast.
