Lional marked their return in spring with the first single to be taken from the EP, 'Happy Birthday'. It was featured as Vic Galloway's pick of the week on the BBC Introducing Scotland Show with further airplay from Jim Gellatly and Roddy Hart. It also received praise from several publications such as Scotland on Sunday, The Inverness Courier, Netsounds, Alive and Amplified and Tenement TV.

The Highland based band now look to build on this with the release of their first EP in 4 years, 'Sadlad'. The title track is an emotionally visceral ballad which deals with the issue of recurring mental health problems. The 'Sadlad' being the embodiment of pain and trauma; a visitor you

need to learn to live with. Themes of mental health and identity continue throughout the EP, which sonically draws on a diverse range of influences from Radiohead and King Krule to The Cure and The Smiths.

The EP was produced and mixed by the band's long-time friend Michael Hogg. Michael applied his experience of working as a live engineer with acts such as Belle and Sebastian, Joan Armatrading and Kodaline to his first full studio recording.

The band now finish the year with what promises to be a special hometown headline show. Support comes from their longtime friend and melodic songsmith, Moteh Parrott.
