Since 2013 I (Gaz Birtles) have been putting on a Bowie night at The Donkey to celebrate the great man's Music and his birthday (Jan 8th) Since The Donkey (and Bowie) are no longer with us, I have moved the night to FIREBUG, 1 Millstone Lane, Leicester LE1 5JN It will be an all day event from 4pm - 11pm. The event features lots of local musicians and bands playing David Bowie songs. Simple as that. This year I will be hosting a 'house band' to play pretty much all of the Hunky Dory album with guest singers including me (Gaz Birtles), Andrea Kenny, Nile Barrow, Andy Sharman and Kevin Hewick. Other acts that night will be - THE ANDY WALES BAND ANDREA KENNY'S TOKEN BOY BOYS KEEP SWINGING (Crazyhead Ian Anderson's band) NORTHERN KIND SERIOUS MOONLIGHTS THE MOODY BIRDS WELLARD WILLY plus more TBC This has sold out well in advance of the date at The Donkey. Please get your ticket in advance for this great night of quality, live music.
