John Helliwell Quartet plays Classic Jazz from Stanley Turrentine to Jimmy Smith

John Helliwell is best known as the saxophonist, secondary keyboardist, and backing vocalist of SUPERTRAMP, serving also as an MC during the band's concerts, talking and making jokes to the audience between songs.

He also played on Pink Floyd's album A Momentary Lapse of Reason, French singer Jean-Jacques Goldman's 1985 album Positif, and clarinet on Sara Hickman's 1990 album Shortstop, and currently fronts Super Big Tramp Band.

Catch him at The Conti for a Preston Jazz Fest special, where he heads up a Jazz supergroup with:

Andrzej Baranek on keys (of The Magic Hat Ensemble, Almeida Girl & Descarga, Gaz Hughes Trio)

Caroline Boaden on drums (leading session drummer who's worked with everyone from The Jackie Graham Jazz Stars and Art Famer to Texas and Take That)

Gary Culshaw on bass (of Free Parking, Pinto Beans, Some Other Country, Nikki Isles and many more)
