Whether working for transport systems, cultural institutions or global events, Mima creates experiences, places and processes that are driven by human behaviour and accessible to all. In this talk, Mima’s Head of Accessibility and Inclusive Design, Emily Yates, will share case studies as well as hints and tips on how to bring further inclusivity into the world of design.

Emily Yates is a wheelchair user, accessibility consultant and pink hair enthusiast based in Glasgow, Scotland. Emily’s career highlights include: leading the accessibility and inclusive design programme for MetroRio, the underground transport system for Rio de Janeiro, in the run up to the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games; leading the accessibility programme for COP28 in Dubai; working as the accessibility consultant for the National Railway Museum’s Vision 2025 Masterplan and being named as one of the 100 most influential disabled people in the UK for two consecutive years by the Shaw Trust.
