Details

It is with great anticipation and 'anxiety' we welcome back Hugh Reed and the Velvet Underpants. They have a long musical career having toured and supported bands such as The Fall, Half Man Half Biscuit, Mogwai, Simple Minds and Belle and Sebastian as well as many others. Following local TV appearances The Velvet Underpants were invited by Deborah Harry of the band ‘Blondie’ to support her on 11 dates throughout Britain. This culminated in Hugh and Debs doing a live duet of Waiting for the Man, where rare footage recently surfaced on YouTube. It wasn't just a rumour that Deborah also faxed Lou Reed to tell him about Hugh! Hugh’s debut album, Take a Walk on the Clydeside was released in 1996 receiving a lot of radio play not just in UK but also throughout Europe, America and Canada. After the successful release of the single, Six To Wan, it was selected for the compilation album, 'The Power Of Scotland Vol 1' which was released on Abbeymill Records. Whilst living in Beijing, Hugh Reed recorded and released his second album, ‘Ni fa feng le ma?’ (R U Crazy? - in Chinese). Hugh describes himself as ‘multi talentless’ and was auditioned and chosen for a cameo role in the coolest film of the nineties, Trainspotting - More recently he acted in the Jackie Chan movie ’12 Zodiacs’ as a butler and has also appeared many times on Chinese TV in many acting roles. Well they are back so grab a crash helmet and come join the absolute mayhem. SUPPORT THE FRAUDS
