Gorton Philharmonic Orchestra Subcription concert series - "Sea Pictures"

The theme for this concert is works inspired by the sea, beginning with Mendelssohn's delightful 'Hebrides Overture (Fingal's Cave)'. Elgar's beautiful and evocative 'Sea Pictures' will be performed by Mezzo-soprano Laura Wood. The second half of the concert showcases the exotic sounds of Rimsky-Korsakov's 'Scheherazade', his much loved interpretation of 'One Thousand and One Nights' from the Middle East.
