From the heartlands of Scotland and the musical metropolis of Melbourne, Good Guy Hank formed after a jam session at the Taybank music pub in Dunkeld in 2019. The trio initially bonded over their shared love of Hank Williams but their palette expanded as they began to introduce their own musical influences including Lucinda Williams, Calexico, Gillian Welch, Drive By Truckers and Nathaniel Rateliff into the group. Theo Barnard (double bass & vocals) brings the bluegrass drive, Pepita Emmerichs (fiddle, mandolin & vocals) adds pop-influenced arrangements and Donny McElligott (lead vocals & guitar) of legendary Perth Americana outfit, The New Madrids, provides powerful soulful vocals and original songs.

They released their debut album, Silver Lining to great acclaim in July with Radio Scotland’s Iain Anderson making it his featured album of the week.
