Details

Things are HEATING UP in CHI as Brazilian Saxophonist Giuliano brings his amazing Latin Jazz show to Chichester Inn. Celebrating over 60 Years of Bossa Nova, the classic Brazilian music that introduced the world to great Brazilian songwriters such as Antonio Carlos Jobim ('Girl from Ipanema') and singer/songwriter João Gilberto. It was in fact Gilberto's recording of Jobim's Chega de Saudade in 1958 that is generally recognized as the start of the music known as Bossa Nova.

Joining Giuliano to play the story of Bossa Nova will be Nic Saunders and his Trio joined by amazing percussionist Russ Tarley from Incognito, making a quintet that is sure to heat up the Chichester Inn.

Giuliano has played with the very best in the South American scene and after studying in New York with the great Dave Liebmann worked in the UK and Europe alongside Jorge Pardo of Chick Corea fame as well as the best names in the UK Jazz Scene. A master of the hypnotic rhythms of Jobim, Gilberto Gil and Hermeto this will be a foot tapping night of intoxicating rhythm and virtuosity. Not to be missed! Tickets from £12. Right cash can also be paid on the door although this may not guarantee a seat.
