Details

Written in 1938 and set in London during the late 1800’s, Gaslight is the gripping tale of Bella Manningham. Is she going mad, or does she feel this way because of the actions of her sadistic husband Jack? As the story unfolds, Bella is aided by retired Detective Inspector Rough who suspects there is more to this story than initially meets the eye. Gaslight is an enduring dark thriller written by author & playwright Patrick Hamilton. In some ways ahead of its time, Gaslight is also the source of the term “gaslighting” as used today to describe a form of psychological abuse.
