Details

London-based singer-songwriter Flo Perlin brings half the world onstage along with her melodious, intelligent, deeply moving songs. Current album Characters was created from impressions gleaned busking around Europe, Asia, the Middle East and USA while exploring her own Jewish-Iraqi-Belarusian roots.

Her songs tackle personal but universal themes: identity, relationships, mental health. Having picked up a cello aged five, progressing to piano, guitar and songwriting by age nine, Perlin lists Zero 7, Ayishai Cohen and Laura Marling among her influences. Her music is mesmerising.

“Perlin’s voice has the quality of running water – it pulls in, submerges, and drowns out everything around it” Folk Radio

Vermont-based singer songwriter Fern Maddie presents music from her breathlessly acclaimed debut album, Ghost Story. Blending trancey instrumentals with crisp vocals and the lyricism of old folk songs, she draws comparisons with June Taboor, Kate Rusby and Joni Mitchell. Her own unique sound is infused with personal influences including a deep love of the natural world.

“Maddie’s young, welcoming voice belies a darkly evocative lyricism creating an album that is both unsettling and thrilling” ★★★★★ Guardian
