A glorious evening of beautiful and contrasting spiritual music sung by the versatile, and vibrant voices of Bel Canto, directed by Alan Boxer.
'Feel the Spirit' by John Rutter - Seven gorgeous arrangements of perhaps our best known spirituals will crown the concert in the second half. Saints, Jericho, Deep River and more will have you wanting to join in, tap your feet and perhaps shed a tear.
The eternally beautiful Requiem by Faure will set the spiritual scene in the first half of the concert, from the heavenly magic of Pie Jesu through the passionate melodic lines of Libera Me (everyone has their favourite movement), to the ethereal atmosphere of In Paridisum, this music cannot fail to stir and inspire.
These pieces are both new to the Bel Canto repertoire and we're so excited to be bringing them to Devon audiences this Summer, with our own singers taking the solo parts.
