Family Album by Alan Ayckbourn

Our 80th anniversary season will begin with Family Album by Britain's most prolific playwright Alan Ayckbourn. First performed in 2022 at The Stephen Joseph Theatre the play tenderly chronicles the lives and experiences of three generations of women in one family across 70 years in the same home. The action is set in three distinct time frames – 1952, 1992 and 2022. Describing the original production in Scarborough The Guardian said “Ayckbourn makes masterly use of time, space and the audience’s imaginations. Sometimes funny, sometimes moving, sometimes both together: always stimulating”.
