Details

Join the team at Hushwing Ranger Service to explore the woods beside Logie Kirk, and learn about folklore and foraging around Beltane and the month of May on a guided walk in the forest. Come along to learn how to identify wild plants and how to use them along with tales of local legends and folklore, in the shadow of the National Wallace Monument and the Ochil Hills.

Enjoy a tasty treat that we’ll forage for during the walk. Logie Old Kirk is also open to visitors. ?Feel free to visit before or after the walk. Don’t miss the 2 hog back stones. Of Viking/Nordic origin, hogback stones saw a renaissance in the early Victorian times, when people relocated them and used them as grave markers, while the true purpose of the stones remains a mystery. The stonemasons who carved and decorated these stones in the shape of longhouses lived in the 11th Century.
