An icon of British singer-songwriting takes to the stage: emotional, honest and with a heartfelt pop sensibility, Emeli Sandé has a decade of hits to her name.

Sandé’s debut album Our Version of Events has sold over 5.4 million copies to date. It was the biggest selling album in the UK in 2012 and 2013 and is certified platinum eight times in the UK and Ireland.

In 2023, Sandé released How Were We To Know, her second independent album release through Chrysalis Records. ‘There was a lot I wanted to say about myself, and I hope that through the lyrics people will get to understand me on a deeper level.’

After achieving three UK number one singles and four BRIT awards, Sandé received an MBE for Services to Music in 2018, and in July 2019 she became the University of Sunderland's chancellor.

Sandé is also a highly sought-after writer with strong values, and uses her profile with moral purpose to support important causes. Her powerful stance on social justice is evident through her songwriting and is the driving force in her career.

Part of Chaka Khan's Meltdown, presented by Southbank Centre.
