Winners of the Tunnell Trust Awards 2020, the Elmore String Quartet is a dynamic young ensemble formed at the Royal Northern College of Music in 2017. In 2021, the Quartet were delighted to be appointed as Junior Fellows in Chamber Music at the RNCM for the academic year 2021/2022.Xander Croft and Pijus Jonušas, violins, Ben Kearsley, viola, and Felix Hughes, cello - together the Elmore String Quartet - have been described as playing with "style, assurance and direction" with "an interpretation whose confidence and polish didn’t preclude a sense of real drama." They will feature three great composer's contributions to this important form, the string quartet; beautiful, lyrical, powerful works - a fitting and brilliant concluding concert for such an amazing season!
