RHGT offer bespoke guided tours for school parties, taking them around the historic centre of Rochester, Kent. Rochester is well-known for its Cathedral - the second oldest in England after Canterbury, its Norman Castle Keep - the most original in Europe, and its many links with the foremost novelist of the Victorian era - CHARLES DICKENS.

In fact, Rochester boasts more Dickens' related buildings and locations than anywhere else outside of London. It is the setting the The Mystery of Edwin Drood, and is at the heart of 'Great Expectations Country'.

It also has a rich Tudor heritage too! King Henry VIII was a regular visitor and met his fourth wife, Anne of Cleves, for the first time in the priory here. The town centre is littered with buildings from the period.

We offer age-appropriate tours for groups up to 140 pupils/students from a one-hour 'taster' to a full day. Guides dress in Victorian/Dickensian costume to add interest - and one of the guides has not one, but TWO personal family links to Charles Dickens!

If you would like to discuss your requirements, please contact us by email in the first instance at rhwt.uk@gmail.com. Please remember to include a contact phone number and time of day it's convenient for us to contact you.
