Educating Rita by Willy Russell

This 1980 comedy drama follows the relationship between a working class Liverpool hairdresser and an Open University lecturer during the course of a year.

Rita, out of step and dissatisfied with her routine life, seeks inner growth by signing up for a course in English Literature, where she meets Frank, a career academic. He has taken on part time tutoring to fund his lifestyle and the two characters have a profound effect on each other.
