Divine Schism: Junodef

Details

It's been too long and we're super excited to welcome Junodef back to Oxford!

Swedish born, London based three-piece Junodef are as genre defying as they come. With their dark dreamscapes and haunting harmonies their sound lands somewhere between doomsday pop and art rock. In their gritty guitars, soaring synths and dazzling drums you can hear hints of artists like Fever Ray, PJ Harvey, Warpaint and Slowdive. It's dark, melancholic and beautiful, and the perfect blend between electronic and organic, vulnerable and edgy.

The three best friends Karin Grönkvist (guitar and vocals), Norea Persson (drums and electronics) and Tyra rnberg (Bass and vocals) moved the band over from Sweden to London in 2016 to reach new heights and emerge themselves in music. Since then they have toured with Editors in Europe and supported bands like Blonde Redhead and Emma Ruth Rundle.

Junodef are a mesmerising live band. Their ghostly brand of art-rock draws me in every time. - Holly Hole (Goat Girl)
