Debbie Bond

Alabama blues/soul artist.
This activity is completed or marked as expired

Singer, guitarist, and songwriter, Debbie Bond has paid her dues in the Alabama backwoods for over 30 years. Her rich voice has been compared to the early influence of Bonnie Raitt and Maria Muldaur but over the years Debbie's voice has blossomed, developing her own individual style, playing a dynamic mix of soulful originals and much loved covers.

Over the years, playing with the older generation of Alabama blues legends including Johnny Shines, Eddie Kirkland and Will King, brings an emotional depth to her music that cannot be faked. Imbued with the blues, her sound is contemporary without compromising the history of its musical roots. There's soul, early blues, rock'n roll, jazz and Americana influences weaving a rich tapestry of sound.

She is the co-founder and previous executive director of the award-winning Alabama Blues Project - an educational non-profit organisation dedicated to preserving and promoting Alabama's rich blues heritage.

Debbie is on a 3-month tour of the UK from July through September.
