Creative Writing for Beginners with Shirley-Anne McMillan

If you have always wanted to give creative writing a go but aren’t sure where to start, or if you secretly write on your own and would like to improve but have never shown anyone your work, then this is the course for you. You will look at various forms of creative writing including fiction and non-fiction, poetry, autobiographical writing and novel writing, gain an understanding of what ‘good writing’ is and get feedback in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.

Shirley-Anne McMillan is an author of contemporary Young Adult fiction. She is an experienced tutor having taught courses and workshops to all ages and levels of experience with the John Hewitt Society and The Crescent Arts Centre among others. Her fourth novel, Grapefruit Moon, was published by Little Island in August 2023.
