Join local basket weaver Helen Jackson as she shares her techniques, stories and skills explored through her plant fibre journey explored in the maker’s current exhibition: Fibre & Form. During this workshop, participants will use our wild garden as a larder to create cordage which will be looped into a natural vessel. This workshop is suitable for beginners. Please bring a packed lunch for our break.
Helen has been practising basket weaving for over 12 years and uses traditional techniques of willow basketmaking whilst exploring new forms and ideas the material offers. She is a member of the the Scottish Basketmakers' Circle (SBC), the Basketmakers' Association (BA), the Heritage Crafts Association (HCA) and the Heckleburn Quines (HQ); an artist and makers' collective based in Banchory, Aberdeenshire.
