Colour Of Light

September 2023 saw the first Sheffield appearance for bluesy folk quintet Colour of Light. The five-piece were warmly received and have since found themselves with more Sheffield gigs – one of them being back at The Lantern!

Back in September, one of the support acts was Mike Simms, with a return to performing after almost a decade's absence. He has since played at the annual birthday bash of local Americana heroes Fargo Railroad Co., and has more music to play locally. Do watch out for him in listings through the year before he returns to support Colour of Light again this October.

Colour of Light are a Leeds-based acoustic band performing across Yorkshire with songs of protest, dreams and celebration. Playing a mixture of guitars, banjo, double bass, harmonica and ensemble vocals, they blend folk, blues, Americana/bluegrass and classical influences into their own unique sound. Their album, “Once Lay A King” is a gorgeous listen.

Coming together around the vibrant Leeds live music scene, this exciting five-piece are returning to The Lantern Theatre this October.
