Newcomer follows the story of Norah Ryan, the literary heroine from Irish writer Patrick MacGill's Children of the Dead End. Norah was a woman of strength and beauty, who nevertheless was vulnerable to poverty, exploitation, and emotional loss. Joining Gráinne on the night will be Andrew Waite, Sarah Leonard and Su-a Lee on strings, Fergus Kerr on French horn, as well as the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of 2021, Michael Biggins on piano.
