Join us for an afternoon of joyous singing as we present an exciting performance by children from local primary and secondary schools, together with the unparalleled voices of Durham University’s finest singers.

Produced by St Chad’s College and directed by their outgoing President of Music, Phoebe Halpern, this choral production promises a joyous tale, brought to life by talented young singers.

This vibrant choral work offers a creative reinterpretation of the classic biblical narrative of Noah, as depicted in Genesis chapters 6 to 9. One of Flanders and Horovitz’ award-winning “pop cantatas,” Captain Noah won the 1976 Ivor Novello Award for Best British Work for Children and the students of St Chad’s College have enjoyed working on this piece for the past few months, sharing their love of music-making with the next generation of enthusiastic singers.

The performance will also feature international award-winning choir, Phoenix Consort, performing as part of our adult chorus, as well as showcasing some of their own repertoire, directed by St Chad’s finalist Adam Whitmore.

Every ticket sold supports the sustainability of the ongoing music outreach efforts of St Chad’s College, Durham University.
