John Donegan / Riley Stone Lonergan Quartet 'Chopin Gets Jazz!'
John Donegan is a jazz pianist and prolific composer / arranger, who spent many years at the vanguard of the Bristol jazz music scene before moving abroad to follow a commercial career in banking. He's now very much in the UK and more active than ever peforming, composing recording and arranging for his bands in England and Ireland where is is more than something of a celebrity. Having been invited by the London Polish Club to contribute music for a festival of Polish classical composer Frederick Chopin, John took a trio of musicians (John, Paul Jefferies and drummer Matt Fishwick) plus conductor Stephen Ellery on board and re-created a handfulmof classic pieces for jazz quartet and he performed these to critical acclaim in late 2022. John has now re-worked these arrangements and added more works to create a show designed for saxophone led quartet. Riley Stone-Lonergan (https://rileystonelonergan.wordpress.com/about/) is one of the most respected new saxophonists on the scene today with a broad range of styles and tastes and he has teamed up with John to create this wonderfully melodic show - Chopin gets Jazz! Paul Jefferies plays double bass and Matt Fishwick is on drums.
