Big Garden Birdwatch Walk with RSPB

In celebration of the annual Big Garden Birdwatch the Nature Conservation Team are joining up with the North East London RSPB Group to run a family friendly birdwalk. This walk is open to all ages and abilities, whether you're a complete beginner or a birding expert!

We'll take a relaxing stroll around Fairlop Waters, and try to spot some of the resident species on site, as well as some of the less common winter visitors. During our last Big Garden Birdwatch walk event in 2020 we were astounded to spot a turtle dove overwintering at Valentines Park, so who knows what rarities we may be lucky enough to discover in 2022!

The UK has lost 38 million birds from its skies over the last 50 years, so it really is vital the everyone does all they can to look after our birdlife. This annual survey allows the RSPB to monitor how bird populations are doing across the UK, so we're hoping that all attendees on this walk will also dedicate an hour to wildlife over the weekend, and submit their own garden sightings.
