Joan battles her anxiety wit vodka-laced Pepsi and correspondence with her beloved fans. Bette chain-smokes and muses over her ability to pick a decent script but never a decent man With bared teeth, thinly-veiled barbed insults .and brutal pranks, they play a delicate game of one-upmanship.Behind the bitching and practical jokes we see the culmination of a lifetime of rivlry underpinned by a grudging respect.
