Berkshire Chamber Music Festival at St. James the Less Church, Pangbourne

The Berkshire Chamber Music Festival returns with a wonderful programme to celebrate the theme of Music and Hope.Written as a response to Brahms’ Clarinet Quintet, the Coleridge-Taylor Clarinet Quintet demonstrates his extraordinary prowess as a composer of chamber music and is an unsung hero of the repertoire.A stand out of the string quartet repertoire, Dvorak’s American Quintet needs little introduction. Written in 1893 whilst the composer was holidaying in Iowa, the quartet pays hommage to the new life he created for himself in America.Performed by the BCMF musicians, this concert promises to be a celebration of some of the best late 19th Century chamber music.
