Beauty & the Beast: The Pantomime Written by Alan P. Frayn Belladonna the wicked enchantress is determined to win the hand of Prince Danton, no matter who stands in her way, much to the amusement of flower fairy Flora. Beautiful Belle from the village spends her time avoiding the village beau Gustave who impresses everyone - except her! When Belladonna chances upon the Prince in the forest she decides to test him by disguising herself as an ugly old woman. When he rejects her for her looks, she casts a spell to enchant his castle and turn him into a beast. To break the spell, he must win the love of another before the last rose of summer dies. In a story packed with hilarious characters including Belle’s housekeeper Fifi and her daft son Jacques, her two older and less beautiful sisters and local salon owners Marcel and Monique who attempt to keep her sisters looking young and beautiful (quite a feat!) there is confusion and chaos with plenty of singing and dancing too. Come along and See Belvoir Players bring this beauty-full pantomime to Belfast – you’ll be sure to enjoy lots of festive ooh la laughing!! It’s a tale as old as pantomime! Please note that this is an original pantomime based on the traditional story of Beauty and the Beast and is not the Disney musical.
