The BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician Award, celebrating its 25th anniversary, showcases emerging talent in Scottish traditional music. Six finalists compete for this prestigious accolade on Sunday 2nd February in the City Halls, Glasgow. They are:

Clelland Shand, an accordionist from Fife with a family music background; Ellie Beaton, an award-winning voice from Aberdeenshire; Laura Penman, an Edinburgh-based clarsach player with Gaelic influences; Miguel Girão, a Portuguese guitarist now based in Scotland; Noah Scott, a French-born pianist studying in Glasgow; Roo Geddes, a Glasgow fiddler blending various musical styles.

These talented musicians represent the diverse and vibrant future of Scotland's musical heritage, each bringing unique skills and backgrounds to the competition.
