Ave Maris Stella

The Brighton Singers chamber choir are busy rehearsing for a super concert on December 4th at St Nicholas' Church in the heart of the city. The programme includes pieces across the centuries, from Gabrieli's Jubilate Deo (1597), via Buxtehude, Bruckner, Grieg and Lauridsen to Cecilia McDowell's setting of Ave Maris Stella (2001) The concert features 2 settings of the medieval Marian hymn Ave Maris Stella and will end with Morten Lauridsen's Lux Aeterna. Come and enjoy an early evening of beautiful music in St Nicholas' church in the heart of the city. Interval refreshments available.
