Arran Faerie Trails – Evening Ghostly Tales

Arran storyteller Marty Ross – who has given acclaimed performances at the Edinburgh Fringe, London Horror Festival and on ArranSound radio, as well as writing drama for BBC & Audible – here performs magical tales for young and old while taking audiences on a journey through one of Arran’s secret treasures: the magical, mysterious woodland tended by the island’s Roots of Arran charity, with different scenes of the stories performed at various points of the walk.

These “promenade performances” will take the audience a little over a mile uphill and then return them safely to Brodick. On Wednesday and Friday evenings Marty will perform spookier “Eco-Gothic” tales (such as a specially devised tale “Dryad”). Audiences will simultaneously experience storytelling at its most dramatic and theatrical while discovering a little-known landscape that could, itself, have come directly from a fairy tale.

These are mobile performances and audiences should come equipped for outdoor walking on footpaths and grass. The performance will take approx. 2 hours.

Marty will also perform afternoon fairy tales on Sundays and Thursdays at 2pm.
