WITH HUGH ODLING-SMEE

One of the most blazing talents in contemporary Scottish fiction, Irvine Welsh is the bestselling author of several books, most of which have been or are slated for, screen adaptation including his first novel Trainspotting. The success of his generation-defining debut, along with its cinematic and stage adaptations, have made him a well-known figure in culture and the arts and he has also written other best-selling books such as Filth, The Acid House and his most recent novel The Long Knives.

Irvine has just completed the biopic of Creation Record’s founder Alan McGee, there are new film and TV projects in scripted development and he is working on his next novel. He pursues interests in music, particularly electronic and is an active DJ and producer.

Irvine joins Hugh Odling-Smee for a fascinating talk on everything from writing to film, culture to technology and much more besides. This promises to be an unmissable evening in the company of an undisputed legend.
