An Audience'at the Palace - From Couch Potato to Pilgrim

Details

A daytime talk with speaker: Maureen McAllister, Operations Director of Jazz Hands CIC 'I always used to say ‘why walk, you’ve got a car’ … but lock-down brought about all sorts of changes for everyone and for me it was a case of buying a pair of walking shoes and stepping out. It started as a keep fit drive and a huge motivation was completing 'virtual challenges'.Since March 2021 I’ve virtually walked from Land's End to John O'Groats, climbed Kilimanjaro, completed the North Coast 500, walked Route66 across America and the perimeter of Iceland. And I’ve actually walked the last 100 kilometres of the Camino de Santiago and am due to walk the Via Francigena Final Stage from Montefiascone to Rome in October 2023. And I’ve raised over £2,500 for the theatre and charity so far. I’ve lost count of the number of pairs of trainers I’ve worn out and the total number of miles – but I’d love to tell you all about my adventures!‘ An Audience at the Palace’ event; monthly talks with interesting folk on fabulous subjects. Price includes a cup of tea/coffee.
