Living Room Theatre presents The End Is in The Beginning“A ‘best of Samuel Beckett’ brought to life.

Absurd.

Poetic.

Funny.

Quietly devastating.

Two astonishing performers.

Sixteen works.

One unforgettable journey.”The End Is In The Beginning is a accessible compilation of sixteen of Samuel Beckett's plays, prose, poems.

We particularly welcome audiences who have little or no experience of Beckett's work. It's performed by Philip Robinson and Sarah White, and directed by Nikki Sved. This intimate performance offers a new way to experience Beckett's language and meet his characters as they struggle to tell their stories.

A kind of ‘best of Beckett’ and a celebration of the act of trying again, failing again, failing better.Expect a mystery phone call, impossible-to-remove boots, surreal radio broadcasts, a glass of Jamesons, classic clowning, beguiling stillness, some audience up on stage, Godot's arrival (maybe).

All encased within a 2-hander of hilarious, poignant, and compelling drama. The show is about 85 mins, for teenagers and above, and has an interval. In the show you'll get a taste of Beckett’s All That Fall, Company, Endgame, First Love, Ghost Trio, Happy Days, How It Is, Malone Dies, Molloy, Not I, Stirrings Still, The Unnamable, Waiting For Godot, Watt, What Is The Word, Worstward Ho, and some biographical context about Beckett himself.Grateful thanks to Edward Beckett and The Beckett Estate for giving their support to this project.
