A night of performance, poetry, music, drag kings and conversation exploring what it means to be a trans man in todays society.Following the launch of Dalton Harrisons new book A Prison Within a Prison, this unique performance-led event takes the story beyond the page.
Daltons book uses autoethnography to explore his journey as a transgender man through prison, release and life beyond the prison walls. But this event asks a much bigger question:
What does it mean to be a trans man in society today?Through live performance, poetry, music and conversation, the evening brings together queer voices, and allies, to explore the realities, challenges and joys of trans masculine life.Expect an evening that moves between drag king performances, live music, poetry and powerful storytelling, including Daltons own poetry performed with music and a live reading of an extract from A Prison Within a Prison their new book.Featuring performances from Ash Palmisciano, Hunter King and Packin Heat!The event celebrates queer creativity while creating space to explore some of the more difficult conversations around gender, masculinity, identity, visibility and acceptance.The evening will culminate in a panel discussion and audience Q&A, bringing together different perspectives.Come for the performances.
