Discover the fascinating story of Ernest Cossart, born Emil von Holst in 1876 at 4 Pittville Terrace, now the Holst Victorian House, in this 150th Birthday exhibition.

Younger brother to Gustav, Ernest left Cheltenham for America at the beginning of the 20th century, becoming a Broadway actor and then a favourite in numerous Hollywood films of the 1930s and 1940s, including Kitty Foyle alongside Ginger Rogers.Free with general admission to the museum.Inspired by Ernest’s story? We’re currently fundraising to install a commemorative blue plaque at the Holst Victorian House.
