We're honoured to welcome, artist, author, arbiter of cultural fashion, DJ & producer, Justin Robertson, for a book talk, signing & DJ set for our Record Store Day celebration.
His mark on the UK house scene is unquestionable. Having played, created or been a part of iconic nights & clubs, Spice (the Chemical Brothers inspiration) The Hacienda, Bugged Out & Sankeys.
Justin's remix work includes productions for Justice, Noel Gallagher, Steve Mason, Andy Bell, New Order, Paul Weller, Andrew Weatherall and PBR Streetgang, to name a few.
Its no surprise that he is also a visual artist of some skill, having had sold out exhibitions across the country & into Europe. His work has hung in cities from Stockholm to London, even finding its way to the prestigious Turbine Hall of the Tate Modern & with the Saatchi Gallery.
Justin has two published novels, The Tangle in 2021 (White Rabbit) & The Trial of Jonah in 2025 (Velocity Press). His next novel is due in 2026 & is titled The Mineral Tail (Velocity Press)
This is a real treat !
★★★Shop Respect & Rules★★★
We please ask you treat the shop, the stock & artefacts with love & respect.
Most importantly be aware of our patient & generous neighbours, on entering, enjoying the surroundings & when it comes to home time.
If there is an accident or incident please let Andy or one of the staff know, there will be no judgement or condemnation, we just want a smooth event.
Any disrespectful, rowdy or uncool behaviour you will be asked to leave.
There is one toilet for the ladies & one urinal for the gents.
We have a TENs licence so the Police, the council & the surrounding neighbours are aware of the party.
As of 11pm the doors to the balcony will be closed, to limit noise. The balcony will still be accessible, just make sure to close the door behind you & limit noise outside.
Drink Policy
Unfortunately the shop doesn't have a bar, so you are more than welcome to bring your own liquid refreshments. Cups, ice, fresh lemon & lime will be provided.
All we ask, is that you be aware of your waste, cigarette butts, sticky used cups, spillages, ring stains & empties.
Last Entry
Will be a firm 8pm, we want to get lost in the shop vibe too :)
If anyone attempts to let anyone else in who hasn't bought a ticket, you will both be asked to leave.
