Southwold Jazz Club ~ JOANNA EDEN QUARTETA return to Southwold Jazz Club for Joanna Eden, but a first for her band as they tour her new album 'The Road to Paysandu'. A prolific singer-songwriter, Eden's enigmatic, heart-warming original compositions will be combined with those of her heroes Joni Mitchell, Stephen Sondheim and Burt Bacharach.Still high from her recent BBC Proms duet with superstar Sam Smith at the Royal Albert Hall, Joanna is celebrating a year of music and togetherness; the spellbinding duet with Smith was soon followed by a wedding to Uruguayan bass player and co-
writer Andrs Lafone. Expect heart, soul and groove! The late Dame Cleo Laine described Joanna's voice as 'bloody marvellous', Jamie Cullum calls her Brilliant and Sam Smith cites her as the reason for their career, saying she inspired me to start writing.Bass player Andrs Lafone is one of the pioneers of the UK Latin/Jazz scene.
He has over 50 albums to his names and has worked with Airto Moreira, Snowboy, Jon Cleary, Basia, Matt Bianco, Da Lata, Negrocan, Monica
Vasconcelos, Mike Lindup and others.Guitarist Guillermo Hill is a regular on the jazz and Brazilian music scenes, appearing with artists such as Ola Onabule, Mica Paris, Tom Jones, John Crawford and Monica Vasconcelos.Drummer George Double has worked with Dame Shirley Bassey, Grammy Award-Winner Jack Jones & curates the programme at Southwold Jazz ClubMelody, mystery & bite.
