Woolf Quartet

"It’s rare to feel a thread of concentrated energy through an entire concert - not an easy feat for musicians to achieve - but the Woolf Quartet... succeeded in doing just this." - The Cross-Eyed PianistBeethoven’s anguished ‘Serioso’ opens a programme that bridges centuries: Dobrinka Tabakova’s vivid contemporary writing and a brand-new suite by the quartet’s violist, Beatrice Slocumbe, precede Mendelssohn’s turbulent, deeply personal A minor Quartet.

A vibrant calling-card from a young ensemble already earning praise for its concentrated, communicative energy.programme:Beethoven Quartet in F minor 'Serioso' Op.95Dobrinka Tabakova The Smile of the Flamboyant WingsBeatrice Slocumb Assemblance: Suite for QuartetMendelssohn Quartet in 2 in A minor Op.13woolf quartet:Mutsuki Seki violinEmily Harrison violinBeatrice Slocumbe violaHoda Jahapour celloPresented by Conway Hall. This is an all ages event.
