All My Heart - New Musical Workshop Performance

Students on our BA (Hons) Musical Theatre Performance degree programme have the opportunity to workshop and be a part of the development process for new musicals, working directly with the writers and creating original roles. The initiative is led by Course Leader Andrew Wright, working with the support of partner companies Mercury Musical Development and Musical Theatre Network. The rehearsal process takes place on Bishop Otter Campus with the culmination of the week being a live performance of the workshopped material on Saturday 31st October at 7:30pm in The Showroom.ALL MY HEARTAll My Heart is an inspiring and deeply moving story about organ transplant recipients and the people who have saved their lives. It is a true story and will be largely verbatim with the book being created from interviews collected over the last two and a half years.The story is centred around the World Transplant Games; a Paralympics for transplant recipients which takes place every two years in different locations around the globe. In the musical, donor family members and organ recipients search for each other in the hope that meaningful connection will help them heal physically and emotionally. The musical culminates with a joyous celebration at the games, where the donor families hang hard won medals around the necks of the people who have their loved ones organs. 'All My Heart is a moving tribute to the amazing resilience of its protagonists. It celebrates the strength of human connection and the incredible generosity of strangers who give the ultimate gift, the gift of life.We are delighted to be enabling the research and development of this new British musical.For further updates please follow our social media channels:
