National Poetry Day - Speakeasy Poetry Evening

Presented by Super Culture and The Write Box, Speakeasy is an evening of poetry, featuring Sue Hill. Writers from Chapter One launch their fabulous third anthology 'Words on the Wire 3'Plus an eclectic line up of Open Mic Poets.In this 27th incarnation of Speakeasy, we are over the moon to welcome Sue Hill, Co-facilitator of The Write Box, as featured poet! Join us as Sue reads from her debut collection, Laying Down the Fragments.Laying Down the Fragments is a mosaic of Sue's lived experience, from youthful escapades and trauma to joy in nature, nostalgic memories of loved ones, and playful, haunting reminiscences of strange incidents in her parents' hotel in Weston-super-Mare.Sue captures these experiences with impressive clarity of language, a range of carefully structured forms and an eye for visual devices on the page. Characters spring to life vividly. Images of nature are lyrically painted.
