includes a t-shirt that can be worn while at the camp and act as a memento of their time!This August, Wrekin College will inspire young creatives at their annual Art Summer Camp. Running from 19th to 21st August 2026, this years camp invites pupils from years 5 to 8 to embark on a creative adventure under the exciting theme of'Super Safari'.Designed for budding artists of all skill levels, our three day camp offers a rich, hands-on itinerary led by our experienced art teachers. Children will explore the wonders of the animal kingdom while developing core artistic techniques, culminating with a fabulous 3D piece to take home.Also this year, the team would like to invite parents and guardians to an exciting exhibition of the artwork that the children have created!The 'Super Safari' project is structured to guide pupils through the full creative process:Observational Skills: We will start by learning how to truly see like an artist, studying the intricate patterns, textures, and anatomy of safari animals.Artist Inspiration: We will dive into contemporary artworks, drawing inspiration from wildlife artists and diverse artistic styles.Painting & Drawing: Using a variety of mediums including pastels, watercolours, paints and drawing media, children will bring majestic lions, towering giraffes, and vibrant birds to life.Animal Sculpture: The camp concludes with an exciting 3D piece. Pupils will apply their knowledge to design and build their very own animal sculpture using mixed media."Our goal is to blend technical skill-building with pure, imaginative fun," says Jeremy Phillips, Head of Art at Wrekin College. "The 'Super Safari' project allows children to unleash their wild sides through colour and texture, while gaining confidence in both traditional 2D mediums and 3D sculpting."
