Specialist Talk: Edith Cavell - A Life of Service

In the month of the anniversary of her death, join us for this illustrated talk exploring the story of the Norfolk nurse, Edith Cavell.From her childhood and early life, we will trace her journey to nursing, the nursing college in Brussels, her work with an underground network helping Allied soldiers escape from German-occupied Belgium, and finally to that fateful day facing a firing squad in October 1915.Well look at the aftermath of her execution, the events which brought her body back to her home county in 1919, and her enduring legacy.This talk will take place in the Weston Room at 11.30am on Saturday 3 October.Tickets cost 7 plus a small booking fee.Please note that tickets are non-refundable.
