Tickets 8 / Under 18s 2
Please note - anyone under 18 years old must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.Started last year, Ashlishyn Noa (New Visions) is an exciting new venture, featuring original work created by IOM-based artists.Drogh Vraane
Drogh Vraane is an upcoming folk opera, inspired by the story of Ann Thompson and written in Manx Gaelic by Aalin Clague. Aalin and ensemble will be playing some excerpts from the piece, which opens in November.Shannen Maria Samuel
BRAT (2024), created by Manx fashion designer Shannen Maria Samuel in collaboration with Somewherefilms, is a DIY proof-of-concept short film exploring the complexities of inner identity when moving from the Isle of Man to the chaos of London. Blending excerpts from the creators life with real footage, the film weaves a narrative around an inner presence known as the SHEE (fairy in Manx). This entity becomes both a source of comfort and unease, its siren call ultimately drawing her back home to the Isle of Man - a journey she later mirrored in real life, returning to the island in December 2025 to develop the project further, now titled THE SHEE.Matthew Warren
How often do we listen to the music of language? In a new commission for Culture Vannin's Triesht26, Matthew Warren explores the sound of the Manx language using recordings of native speakers from the 1950s. Instead of focusing on the meaning of the words, the audience is invited to hear the distinctive shapes of the sound of spoken Manx as musical in themselves. This project is part of Blein ny Gaelgey (Year of the Manx Language).Mannin Youth Dance Company
