Arriving back from their honeymoon, Francie and George take up residence in their new home.

But there is something strange happening in the house, as the cellar door keeps opening by itself.

When the creepy Mr.

Meakin, the former owner of the house appears saying he needs to look for a misplaced item of his that he believes he left behind in the cellar, suspicions arise as to what may be causing the door to open.

Did his wife really leave him to go to America as he claims? Or does she currently reside in the cellar?
