Sebastiaan De Krom DrumsArt formed New Directions to showcase some of jazz's lesser-known gems from composers such as Thelonious Monk. It reflects his desire for a fresh though accessible examination of this music.Art is a previous winner of British Jazz Awards. He fronted Stan Tracey's quartet for 20 years and has played with virtually everyone on the UK jazz scene.Gareth Williams is also a previous winner of British Jazz Awards. Steve Fishwick is a member of Ronnie Scotts house band as is Arnie Somogyi. Both are also academic teachers. Sebastian De Krom is arguably one of the finest percussionists in the UK - winning the prestigious Buddy Rich prize as a youngster.
