You will meet Isaac Gulliver Church warden and notorious smuggler, Saint Cuthberga, sister of the King of Wessex, Queen of Northumbria and the founder of Wimbornes Abbey, Walter of Wimborne, medieval schoolmaster and renowned satirical poet, The Red Queen Margaret Beaufort, (mother of King Henry VII), a ruthless political player who secured the Tudor dynasty and Roger Gillingham, who gave 90 books to Wimbornes famous chained Library in 1695, as long as they were chained up! But also, that the library should be opened, free, for the people of the town, providing they were shopkeepers or the better class of person!!There are limited places for this popular festival event.
