The music of Bohemia and Moravia has long been shaped by local songs, dances and musical traditions. Smetana, Dvorak and Martinu each found their own ways of transforming these influences into distinctive concert works, while the arrangements of Slovak songs offer a direct connection to their origins.The programme culminates in Dvorak's String Quintet in G major, a work full of colour, energy and melodic invention.Please note: This concert has no interval but the bar will be open from 6.30pm prior to the concert. Please make sure to come and chat with the players in the bar after.
